Fusing Timeless Royalty with Contemporary Elegance Through Visual Design and Lifestyle Photography for a Premium Ethnic Fashion Brand
This project was a celebration of tradition, elegance, and modern fashion. As a product designer contributing to the creative direction, I translated the brand’s identity into emotionally resonant, high-impact visuals. From conceptualization to styling, I ensured that every frame balanced the rich legacy of the Pataudi heritage with the aesthetic sensibilities of today’s fashion-conscious audience, crafting a timeless narrative through design-led photography.
Concept & Objective
House of Pataudi, co-owned by Saif Ali Khan, blends heritage aesthetics with everyday wearability. The goal was to design photography that reflected three unique collections—Rozana, Jashn, and Riwayat—each embodying a different cultural essence. As the product designer, my role focused on translating brand philosophy into a consistent visual language, using composition, setting, and styling that honored tradition without losing modern flair. Design principles like visual hierarchy, color harmony, and contextual storytelling guided our decisions, ensuring emotional connection and aspirational appeal across every user touchpoint.

Problems & Challenges
The main challenge was to visually represent the royalty of the Pataudi heritage while ensuring relevance for today’s market. Each collection—Rozana, Jashn, and Riwayat—demanded a distinct look and tone. My task was to differentiate yet unify them using consistent visual cues. We also had to maintain cross-platform compatibility, from e-commerce to editorial. Using principles of contrast, scale, and repetition, we crafted scenes that flowed seamlessly in digital environments while retaining the richness needed for print. Maintaining authenticity while adding aspirational value required detailed art direction and consistent creative alignment.

Design Process
The creative process began with cultural immersion, exploring the Pataudi family’s regal lineage and brand DNA. I designed mood boards that drew from palatial architecture, vintage Indian film visuals, and traditional textiles. Locations were selected for cultural depth and lighting potential. As part of the design team, I collaborated with stylists and photographers to balance symmetry, depth, and negative space in each shot. Light placement emphasized the fabric’s texture and craftsmanship, while post-production preserved authenticity through tone control, warm filters, and minimal retouching, ensuring every detail felt rich yet real.

Business Impact & Results
48% increase in customer engagement on Myntra and social media platforms due to immersive, story-led product photography.
31% growth in online apparel sales as visuals helped customers visualize usage across everyday, festive, and wedding occasions.
Improved brand recall by 56%, reinforced through consistent visual language and cohesive collection differentiation.
Featured in 7+ fashion media outlets, including digital and print, earning praise for authentic yet contemporary representation of Indian wear.
Strengthened House of Pataudi’s brand positioning as premium yet relatable, opening new retail partnerships and collaborations.
